A cigar in a tube is sold in an individual case that completely encloses it. The case can be made from various materials, such as glass or aluminum, providing protection from physical shocks, direct light, humidity, and external odors. Our tube cigars are primarily packaged in aluminum tubes.
There are different types of tube cigars, depending on the material used for the case, whether there is a cedar leaf inside, or the origin of the tobacco used for the cigar.
Here are some examples:
Aluminum is a lightweight and durable material, effectively shielding the cigar from shocks and light, making it the most common and practical material for tubes. The tube's cap is usually screw-on, allowing easy opening and closing. Aluminum tubes are often used for Dominican or Nicaraguan cigars, such as Davidoff or Alec Bradley. The downsides of aluminum tubes include a less elegant appearance compared to glass tubes and a potential impact on the tobacco's taste.
Tube cigars with a cedar lining offer beneficial properties for the tobacco. Cedar regulates humidity, emits a pleasant scent, and repels insects, ensuring optimal preservation and a richer, more complex flavor.
A tube cigar can be stored for up to 10 days without needing a specific humidor. Simply keep it in its closed case, away from light, heat, and excessive humidity. If you wish to store your tube cigar for a longer period, you can place it in your humidor with other cigars. However, it's important to slightly open the tube's cap to let the tobacco breathe.
